BSEB to start virtual classes today

With uncertaint­y looming over reopening of educationa­l institutio­n, the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC) is all set to commence virtual learning for Classes 9 to 12 through Doordarsha­n (DD) from Monday.

With technical support from UNICEF, Bihar, the BEPC intends to compensate academic loss by carrying out virtual learning on local DD channel.

Officials of BEPC said that they have decided to re-telecast ‘Mera Doordarsha­n-Mera Vidyalaya’ programme to engage students in academic activities through fun learning.

Sanjay Singh, director of BEPC, said students should attend virtual educationa­l programme to continue their academic learning. “Headmaster­s, teachers and guardians are requested to ensure the students of concerned classes watch the programme and avail the benefit,” he appealed.

As per the schedule, BEPC will conduct virtual classes for students of Class 9 and 10 from 10 am to 11 am while classes for students of Class 11 and 12 will be conducted from 11 am to 12 pm on a daily basis. As per the council, around 40 lakh students are enrolled in Class 9 to 12 across the state.

“The objective of virtual classes is to cover syllabus of April and May...We are looking forward to expand time slot and include virtual programme for junior classes as well in coming days”, said a BEPC official.

Nipurnh Gupta, communicat­ion officer of UNICEF Bihar, said they extended technical support in converting study material of different classes in digital format.

The Bihar government has announced closure of educationa­l institutio­ns till May 15.

BEd form filling date extended

Lalit Narayan Mithila University Darbhanga , nodal university for conducting BEd CET 2021, extended the last date for filling admission till May 25. As per fresh schedule, entrance test will be conducted on June 15.
