Chief minister Yogi Adityanath said on Tuesday that the death certificates of all Covid patients must clearly mention corona as the cause of death and the kin should not face any problem in obtaining the certificates.

He also asked for issuing of necessary government order for this if needed. Yogi also mentioned that the Covid infection intensity was slowing down in the state and the recovery rate had gone up to 90.6%.

At the Covid review meeting with Team-9, Yogi said, “The district magistrates and chief medical officers (CMOs) in all districts must ensure that the kin of any person who died of Covid or non-Covid causes must not face any problem in obtaining death certificate. If the death has happened due to Covid, then the certificate must clearly mention it. If need be, also issue the necessary government order in this regard.”

Regarding ‘black fungus’, chief minister asked for writing to the central government with a requisition for enough drugs for the treatment of this infection. “Make the requisition keeping in mind the proportion of patients and the total population of the state. The state should have sufficient drugs to treat black fungus in all districts”, he said.

Citing Covid data, Yogi said that the intensity of corona infection in the state was slowing down and the recovery rate had reached 90.6%.

“In the past 24 hours, a total of 8,727 fresh Covid cases were reported which is 29,000 less than the 38,055 cases on a peak day in April. Also, there is a 56% decline in the total number of active cases in the state against the number of active cases on April 30. On April 30, the total number of active cases in the state were 3,10,783 and now there are 1,36,342 cases, which shows a fall by 1.74 lakh cases,” he said. On oxygen supply in the state, Yogi said that in the past few days oxygen demand fell by 10 to 15 % and most of the medical colleges had oxygen back-up for two to three days.

Post-Covid wards

The chief minister said that many patients who had recovered from Covid needed postCovid treatment and post-Covid medical observation. So, dedicated post-Covid wards should be set up in all Covid hospitals. All the beds in these wards must have oxygen support and the patients should get food along with the treatment.

Vaccination

UP CM said that so far a total of 5.27 lakh people in the age group of 18-44 had been vaccinated in 23 districts of the state while the figure of doses administered to the 45+ age group was 1.52 crore.
