With shoots stalled across Maharashtra, most television productions have shifted their sets to other parts of the country. Deepshikha Nagpal, one of the pivotal characters in an on-going television show, is currently in Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, shooting for the project.

She says that while she was anxious about shooting amid the second wave of the pandemic, work had to continue: “Work is extremely important for me as being a single mother, I don’t have anyone to depend on and my kids are still young and dependent on me. I won’t say it was easy for me to jump back into work. I do get worried sometimes, especially, about my kids, thinking about their safety.”

To keep all health hazards at bay, Nagpal says that there’s medical assistance available on-site to attend to the cast and the crew. “There are a lot of precautions being taken. We have made a bio bubble and nobody goes in or out. So far, no cases have been reported on the set but the channel and the production are doing whatever necessary in case there is a need,” she explains.

The actor says that shooting in a confined space is a challenge and just when she was getting used to the new normal, cyclone Tauktae caused heavy damage to the set of her show due to which it had to be shifted again. “Sometimes, we actors do feel awkward shooting inside but, in the end, I am glad to be working,” she says.

Recently, due to the cyclone, we had to shift everything inside and yes, there have been hindrances but we are managing.
