Saryu Roy puts health dept in dock in letter to CM Soren
THE MLA HAS DEMANDED PROBE INTO JAMSHEDPUR INCUMBENT CIVIL SURGEON FIGHTING BIHAR ELECTIONS IN 2005 WITHOUT RESIGNING FROM A GOVERNMENT
Jamshedpur (East) MLA Saryu Roy has put state health department and it’s minister Banna Gupta in the dock, demanding investigation into alleged serious illegalities in the department.
In a recent letter to chief minister (CM) Hemant Soren, Roy has demanded probe into Jamshedpur incumbent civil surgeon in-charge Dr AK Lal fighting Bihar assembly elections from Jhanjharpur assembly seat from Samajwadi Party ticket in 2005 without resigning from a government job, sending 111 Save Life Hospital owner Dr OP Anand to jail and the latter’s complaint to the health minister over giving funds to unlisted hospitals and nursing homes under CM Terminal Disease Assistance Scheme (CMTDAS).
Earlier, Roy wrote to the CM, seeking probe into Dr Anand’s online FIR against Seraikela-Kharsawan
district civil surgeon in-charge Dr Bariyal Mardi, accusing him of demanding ₹1.50 crore on behalf of the health minister. Dr Bariyal, however, trashed the allegation as ‘blatant lie.’
Roy, in his fresh letter to the CM late Thursday evening, drew his attention to the fact that Dr Lal was being posted and promoted even after state health department undertaking a probe into his illegal act of fighting election from Jhanjharpur seat on SP ticket in 2005. “It may be a coincidence that health minister Banna Gupta fought the Jharkhand assembly elections in 2005 from Jamshedpur (West) seat on SP ticket too,” Roy wrote.
Roy also sent Dr Anand’s complaint to Banna Gupta on July 20, 2020 pointing three unregistered private hospitals who were provided treatment funds under CMTDAS, in violation of the scheme rules. “This could be the reason behind the conspiracy to arrest and send Dr Anand to jail,” Roy stated in his letter, copy of which is with the HT.
Meanwhile, Gupta has ordered Jamshedpur DC to investigate the allegation levelled by Roy against Advanced Diagnostic Centre being operated in Kantilal Gandhi Medical Hospital. Roy alleged the diagnostic centre was operating in unauthorised manner because a top Seraikela-Kharsawan police officer and a state minister’s family were involved in it.
