A CONSIDERATE GESTURE

Actor Rituparna Sengupta has been organising Covid relief work in Kolkata, from Singapore. She tells us, “I’ve organised a vaccination drive for about 20 kids with special needs and NGO workers at a private hospital.” Since vaccines aren’t readily available, she is trying to help in small ways.

TOGETHER WE CAN

A flagship community outreach initiative of Delhi Police, YUVA aims to train the underprivileged youth of the capital for skill development to help them eke out a living. This year, the North-West District has collaborated with six hospitals to impart skills to 157 young individuals for volunteer work in the fight against Covid-19.

CHEFS FOR INDIA

Chef Sanjeev Kapoor has been serving meals daily to the doctors and nurses of Sion Hospital in Mumbai. “Our aim is to together feed our frontline workers who are tirelessly working day and night to fight the Covid-19 pandemic in India,” wrote the chef on Instagram who is working with World Central Kitchen (WCK) to serve fresh meals.

HARDWORK IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS

Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other. A short clip of Arat Hosseini, 7, attempting to climb a pole has made it to the Twitter account of IAS officer MV Rao. No wonder, netizens are applauding the young lad’s efforts. Rao rightly captioned the post as, “This kid is my guru”.

OUR FUTURE IS IN SAFE HANDS

Lieutenant General Vinod Bhatia took to Twitter to post a video of ecstatic cadets from Sainik School Ghorakhal, Nainital (his alma mater), cheering each other and chanting slogans as they tip their hats in salutation at the NDA Passing Out Parade. We, along with Bhatia, feel proud to see the josh of newly commissioned Army officers.

NATURE IS THERAPEUTIC

Our reader, Meenakshi Katoch, shared with us how nature serves as a source that inspires, helps reflect and heals too. In the pandemic, she has been encouraging the children in her colony to adopt a tree and nurture it.
