Schools continue to remain shut, but a teacher in Dumka, Jharkhand, is ensuring that his students don’t suffer. Sapan Kumar, a government school teacher in Dumarthar village has turned the walls of his students’ houses into blackboards, so that their education is not hampered.

SERVING HUMANITY
Food is a right, not a privilege, feels Vijay Asrani, who runs Maa Community Fridge in Green Park, Delhi. The fridge, which can be found in the main market, contains pre-made meals, leftovers, water bottles and juices, donated by people for the underprivileged. The idea is to ensure that leftover food or eatables that people wish to donate for the less fortunate can reach the hands of those in need. Kudos to this commendable thought!
RECLAIMING SPACES
Located on the tip of Malabar Hills in Mumbai, Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the Maharashtra Governor, has had some rather special visitors in the recent past, including owlets and Indian Ocean humpback dolphins. The lockdown has definitely given us a rare peek into the beauty of wildlife!
HELPING HANDS
A cafe in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, solely run by acid attack survivors, has come forward to help people who are left to fend for themselves. The cafe has been preparing and distributing food among those in need, amid the pandemic. Such gestures go a long way in instilling faith in our community.
FATHER-SON LOVE
A father’s love for his child is incomparable. Anand, 45, pedalled over 300km from his village, Koppalu, in Mysore, to Bengaluru and back, to get medicines for his specially-abled child. He traversed the distance without thinking twice, for he knew that his son can’t go without medicine even for one day. Anand, you are a hero!
INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO WFH
The work-from-home setup comes with its own challenges, and it’s safe to say we’ve all faced some! Disturbed by the construction work going on in her building, Donna Powell, a support worker from Nottingham, UK has turned her car into her office, and spruced it up with a diffuser, some cosy cushions and a supply of biscuits!
