MAKING A DIFFERENCE

The soldiers of the Sikh Regimental Centre (SRC) stationed at Ramgarh, Jharkhand, bought the entire watermelon produce of Ranjan Kumar Mahto, a farmer from Jharkhand. With no takers for his five tonnes of watermelon, the 25-year old farmer offered the produce to the officers for free, but the jawans paid the market price.

Bikaner in Rajasthan is all set to initiate a door-to-door vaccinatio­n drive for people above 45 years of age, thus becoming the first town to do so. In order to avoid any wastage of vaccines, the vaccine van will deliver the vaccine jabs to the doorsteps only when a minimum of 10 people register themselves for the shots.

GET VACCINATED, GET 20 KGS RICE

From free doughnuts to cash prizes, countries all over the world have been convincing their population­s to get vaccinated through incentives. In order to arrest the waning demand and build up inoculatio­n, lower Subansiri district in Arunachal Pradesh has launched a free rice distributi­on campaign, specifical­ly 20 kgs for anyone who gets a jab.

Actor Jacqueline Fernandez took to Instagram to share her experience of interactin­g with kids from a NGO in Mumbai. Through her post, she expressed how one simple act of kindness can make a tremendous impact on a child’s life. “We only live once! Let’s make this life worth it by helping others in need and sharing the #storiesofk­indness of those around us!,” she wrote.
