RANCHI : Police have detained eleven people in connection with the Jharkhand General Graduate Qualified Combined Competitive Examination 2023 (JGGLCCE2023) paper leak case, with a breakthrough expected on Monday, officials close to the matter said on Sunday.

A police official familiar with the matter said, “Police are probing the case very seriously.”

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Chandan Kumar Sinha directed the question towards SP (rural) Manish Toppo, who confirmed the fact.

“So far, 11 have been detained in the case. They are being questioned. None of those detained have been arrested. I hope that by tomorrow, two to three will be arrested and forwarded to judicial custody,” Toppo said.

When probed further, Toppo expressed his inability to share much. “It will not be proper to give any conclusive statement in the matter until the conclusion of the investigation,” he added.

However, a police official said, “As many as four teams are probing the matter following the constitution of SIT on the direction of SSP Sinha on February 8.”

According to the official, the first team is collecting evidence by interrogating the officials and employees of the Jharkhand State Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), while the second team is collecting evidence by interrogating the officials and employees of Satvat Infosol Pvt. Ltd., the agency conducting the examination. The third team, the police official said, is collecting evidence by interrogating the examination conducting officers, controller, and treasury officer, while the fourth team is collecting evidence by interrogating the director of the coaching centre providing coaching for competitive examinations.

Another police official said that it has become a challenge for the police to probe the matter as the question paper leaked before the conduction of the examination on January 28, and an FIR was registered in this connection against unknown persons at Namkum Police Station on January 29.
