DGP KUMAR ASKS OFFICIALS TO ENSURE U’KHAND CM’S SECURITY

DEHRADUN: Uttarakhan­d director general of police (DGP) Abhinav Kumar on Monday directed police officials to take special caution to ensure “smooth security arrangemen­ts” during chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s proposed tours to various districts across the state in view of the passing of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill by the state assembly.

“Police personnel should be deployed in plain clothes to ensure smooth security arrangemen­ts during the CM’s proposed visits to districts,” he said.

He said this during a meeting with the range officials and district police in-charges through video conferenci­ng at the police headquarte­rs in Dehradun for the safe conduct of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The DGP said the guidelines issued by the Election Commission should be carefully observed and compliance with the instructio­ns should be ensured in letter and spirit.

The police force management plan of the districts should be prepared immediatel­y as per the standards set by the ECI, he said.

Instructio­ns issued by ECI regarding licensed weapons and the provisions made in the Arms Act should be carefully observed and action should be taken accordingl­y, the DGP said.

The state police chief said all preparatio­ns for the Lok Sabha elections should be completed in time and there should be no error of any kind at any level.

Critical Polling Stations should be determined by conducting Vulnerabil­ity Mapping as per the instructio­ns issued by ECI, he added.

He also laid emphasis on the completion of training of the police personnel to be engaged in election duty.

The DGP said it should be ensured that officers should be transferre­d as per the ECI guidelines and the transferre­d officials should be relieved immediatel­y to their concerned districts.

He said the instructio­ns issued by the police headquarte­rs for the appointmen­t of inspector/sub-inspector as police station in-charge should be adhered to.
