PM MODI WILL INAUGURATE AND LAY FOUNDATION STONES FOR MULTIPLE PROJECTS WORTH ₹20,000 CR ON MARCH 6

Bihar deputy CM and BJP state president Samrat Choudhary on Sunday sought to downplay the hectic inauguration and stone laying undertaken by the prime minister as a bid to take political mileage ahead of Lok Sabha elections and underscored no government has helped Bihar as much as the Narendra Modi government after the country gained independence.

Choudhary’s claim came at a press conference organised at Bettiah, headquarters of West Champaran district, where PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for multiple development projects worth ₹20,000 crore on March 6, barely few days ahead of the model code of conduct coming into force.

“The inauguration and stone laying by PM Modi is mere a tip of the iceberg... ,” said the BJP state president underscoring that the state (Bihar) has never been benefitted as much as under his regime vis-a-vis other non BJP governments in the country.

“Bihar has never witnessed the development projects in railway worth ₹70000 crore till 2014 after gaining Independence.

But approving and kick starting projects ₹70000 crore for railway sector in Bihar alone is simply stupendous,” said Choudhary.

He was replying to a query a day after PM Modi launched development projects worth over ₹40, 000 crore for Bihar (₹21000 crore for Aurangabad and ₹27,000 crore for Begusarai) during his visit to Bihar.

On a question about BJP’s realignment JD-U, Choudhary made a climbdown from his stated stand.

“The very basis of my political origin is to enthrone Nitish Kumar as the chief minister of Bihar,” said Choudhary who started sporting a saffron turban in 2022 after Nitish joined hands with the mahagathbandhan to form a government, saying that he would take it off after “dethroning” Nitish.
