‘I asked Saif, why did he put Taimur’s pic on Whatsapp?’

Actor Saif Ali Khan’s phone probably didn’t stop ringing when he changed his Whatsapp profile picture to that of his twomonth-old son Taimur. He had an apt response when his wife, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan, asked him the reason for using the baby’s pic on the chat service. “I asked Saif, why did he put Taimur’s pic on Whatsapp? He was like, ‘It’s okay. I cannot hide him for the whole life,’” said Kareena during a live Facebook chat with dietician Rujuta Diwekar about losing weight after pregnancy. The stylish new mum couldn’t stop gushing about her infant: “He is the most gorgeous son, he is very goodlooking, he has Pathan genes… as I had a lot of ghee [during pregnancy], I went [the] conventional way.” The actor, who will resume shooting in May, intends to give her little boy all the attention he needs, even if it means taking him along to the film shoots. “Taimur is not alone — one parent is always there with him. We’re always going to do the same. If not, then I’m strapping him on and going for shoots and that’s amazing. He (Taimur) is an integral part of us, he is part of Saif and me, he is born to us,” said Kareena. About setting the trend of flaunting her pregnancy and not being self-conscious about the weight gain, Kareena said, “I’ve carried Taimur with lot of strength, energy, joy. I put on 18kg and I flaunted it till the day I walked into the hospital. I didn’t care. And I was photographed from different angles, my double chin was seen. My friends and family were like ‘You are [looking] pregnant.’” Famous for her svelte figure before motherhood, the star has started a special diet with Diwekar to lose the postpregnancy weight. “The process has started,” said Kareena. “I wanted to do it. It’s about eating the right food, walking. I am very dedicated. It’s important. [The weight] is all coming off.” Actors are often under the scanner for their weight gain and Kareena, too, was talked about on social media during her pregnancy. She said, “How can somebody say I’m overweight? I want people to accept me in every phase.”
