Nimrat Kaur and Akshay Oberoi to act in a web series

Web series seem to be the order of the day, and with an increasing number of actors working in online shows, film-makers are jumping in as well. Actor Nimrat Kaur, who has worked in American TV shows, projects on the digital medium and in Hindi movies, will once again be seen in a web series about the Indian Army. Directed by film-maker Nagesh Kukunoor, the series will be produced by Ekta Kapoor, and will star Akshay Oberoi of Pizza (2014) fame, opposite Nimrat. The show is a drama and will have Nimrat starring as a commander, and Akshay playing as an army officer and her romantic interest. Kukunoor, who has been acclaimed for his movies such as Rockford (1999), Dor (2006) and Dhanak (2015), will make his debut on digital platforms with this web series. Speaking about the project, Akshay says, “It’s a fantastic and an extremely gripping story. Nagesh is amazing and we will start shooting the series in Satara, Maharashtra, soon. Nimrat is an amazing actor. I think working in projects like this helps hone any actor’s abilities.” “That’s why an increasing number of actors are doing stuff like this between movie projects. I have been part of a couple of web series, and this format works very well. Bigger film-makers getting into this will only give the medium a boost,” adds the actor. For Nimrat, whose late father was a major in the Indian Army, this opportunity is a dream come true. In fact, she planned to join the Army before she got into acting.
