Rumours don’t bother me: Gauahar

- Samarth Goyal

Actor Gauahar Khan (left), who has been in the entertainment business for more than a decade now, accepts that rumours are inevitable, and she tries her best to ignore them. “It’s not something that bothers me much. You know they are rumours, and not true. So, you don’t get affected by them. But if they get nasty, and start affecting your family or the people you love, then you have to take the situation in your hands,” she says. Ask her about reports of her dating TV actor Harshvardhan Rane and she laughs them off. “It’s funny. People said that Harsh (Harshvardhan) and I went on a coffee date when that never happened. We did go for a coffee, but much later, after this news came out. We even clicked a photo. We wanted to say that ‘look the coffee has finally happened’. Jokes apart, he’s a good friend and there’s nothing more than that,” the 33-year-old clarifies. Gauahar will be seen next in Peanut Butter, her second short film after Ek Dopahar alongside actor Huma Qureshi, which was released online in January 2017. “As an actor, I want to work in all mediums. One shouldn’t shy away from doing so. I’m not bothered about the medium whether it is TV or feature films, or short films. As an actor, I’m hungry for great concepts,” says the actor. “Short films are different and challenging. I play a 28-year-old mother of an 18-year-old boy. The moment I read it, I knew I had to be part of it,” she adds.
