WHAT’S ALL THIS ‘NUDITY’ FUSS?

Actor Sana Khan doesn’t understand why there’s such hype around bold scenes in films

Actor Sana Khan (left) created a buzz when she did intimate scenes in her last release Wajah Tum Ho (2016) alongside Gurmeet Choudhary. The actor, however, clarified that it was just a character that she was playing and she never said that she enjoyed doing such scenes on screen. Just two films old in the industry, Sana feels that boldness and nudity in Hindi films is a bit too over hyped. “I don’t understand this term ‘nudity’ that everyone keeps talking about. If a heroine wears a bra and that’s showing in a scene, people would start talking. Come on! I would wear the same size choli and that would be okay? This is utter nonsense,” says Sana. The 29-year-old who made her Bollywood debut in 2014 film Jai Ho says, in today’s day and age, nothing can remain censored and everything is there on the Internet. “So why create this fuss? I myself have seen it all in the name of nudity where actors have a proper backless shot, removing their clothes, and so much more than that.” On whether she will be okay portraying such roles and characters in future, Sana adds, “Well, I am a beginner in this industry and I am open to experimenting. For me, as long as you are looking hot, sexy, decent and not looking vulgar, and your cameraman and director are presenting you beautifully, that is perfect.” With respect to Bollywood, Sana also feels that Censor Board has a huge role to play. “There’s something called a censor board and they are there for a reason, that filmmakers or actors don’t get to an extreme where people can’t handle a particular scene. So, there’s no question on whether I am comfortable with it or not.”
