ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE KAPIL-SUNIL SPAT

The news of comedian Kapil Sharma introducing his ladylove Ginni garnered much attention. However, the Kapil Sharma-sunil Grover spat has taken precedence. After the fracas on a flight, where allegedly Kapil abused (co-star) Sunil, the latter was apparently quite hurt by the attitude. Sources revealed that he might quit The Kapil Sharma Show (TKSS). On March 21, the two posted their feelings on the social media. Sunil broke his silence with some hardhitting words. He said that Kapil “hurt” him deeply and that he should “start respecting human beings also apart from animals”. Sunil added that while not everyone is “as successful” and “as talented” as him, he should have “gratitude towards their existence”. Sunil also said, “Thanks for making me realise it was your show and you have power to throw out anybody, anytime. You are the wittiest, and the best in your field. But don’t act like a ‘God’.” Kapil, too, took to Twitter, saying: “Paji dil jitt liya tusi.. now I love u more n more n more .. hun bada mazaa aan wala a.. akal aan to baad.. I love u.” On March 20, however, Kapil had posted his apology: “Sry if I hurt u unintentionally. u knw vry well how much I luv u. M also upset. love n regards always (sic).” What happened: On March 18, Kapil verbally abused and physically assaulted Sunil when they were returning from Australia after performing at a show. Reportedly, Kapil was drunk and Sunil tried to cool things down. Kapil apparently hurled abuses at his co-star Chandan Prabhakar, when things got heated and Sunil intervened. He then turned to Sunil and got abusive and aggressive and even held his collar.

his love for girlfriend Ginni with a tweet surprising many, as Kapil is known to keep mum about his personal life. When contacted, Kapil had said, “Why don’t people believe me? (laughs). Yes, it is true. Ginni and I are in love and she is lovely. We are not engaged yet. I will get married next year. I am very happy.” Sunil tried to talk to the cabin crew into overlooking Kapil’s behaviour. Kapil apparently told Sunil that “Your show flopped and you came back to me. You work for me.” He even abused his other colleagues Ali Asgar and Kiku Sharda calling them per day artists and that he could throw them out of his show anytime. After the news broke, Kapil posted on Facebook, on March 20, clarifying that he did argue with Sunil but they are like family, and that he loves and respects him. Latest update: On March 20, an episode of TKSS was shot with the Naam Shabana team wherein Kapil, Kiku Sharda were present but Sunil and Chandan didn’t turn up for the shoot. A source says, “The shoot was tense unlike the usual fun vibe. Kapil was in a bad mood and the episode might not even turn out to be as entertaining.” While Kapil is the face of TKSS, the characters Sunil plays — Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi — are loved by the audience. After pack-up, Kapil tweeted, “@Whosunilgrover today packed up at 6am after so long n I missed so many things.. love u .. see u in evening at ur home (sic),” implying that there might be yet another twist to the tale. Kapil tweeted to PM Narendra Modi asking, “Yeh hain aapke achhe din?”. He wrote that he pays `15cr income tax yet has to pay `5lakh bribe to BMC office. Kapil was accused of misbehaving with female co-stars at an event in 2015. Nurses from medical colleges and hospitals in Amritsar, Punjab protested against the way their profession was represented on The Kapil Sharma Show. Kapil ended his stint with the channel airing Comedy Nights With Kapil (CNWK) after creative issues in 2016. In 2014, Kapil walked out of Celebrity Cricket League at the last minute. He was reportedly paid `1.25cr to host the extra innings. In 2014, Sunil aka Gutthi quit Kapil’s show CNWK after not getting a pay hike as desired. He went on to do his own show, Mad In India, but was back on Kapil’s show after the show bombed.
