‘BEING A STAR KID IS A BONUS’

However, actor Bobby Deol feels that it’s one’s work that speaks rather than one’s background

Actor Bobby Deol set to return to the silver screen after a hiatus of almost four years. About his sabbatical, Bobby shares that he was busy reinventin­g himself and comeback in a better form. The actor, who hails from a family of film stars — father Dharmendra, brother Sunny Deol and step-mother Hema Malini — feels it’s an added pressure as the audience expects a lot from you. “Every star kid gets categorise­d. It’s rather difficult for a star kid to establish himself in the industry because people have certain standards that they expect you to match,” says the 50-year-old actor. On nepotism in the industry and whether star kids have it easy, Bobby says that it depends on the person and not on his or her background. “So many star kids have come and disappeare­d. I feel it’s your work that speaks for you. I have worked hard and done some good work to make my own space,” he says, adding, “Being born in a film family is a bonus, but I’m not (left) is

I see myself acting for the next 20 years of my career.”
