PRIYANKA CAN’T WAIT TO COME HOME, BUT SHE’S A BIRD OF PASSAGE

After a trip of just 10 days in India, the actor must return to the US to promote her film

Actor Priyanka Chopra (above) can’t wait to be back in India, only to return to the US again to promote her Hollywood debut Baywatch. Will the team come to India? She says it seems “very difficult”. Earlier, actor Deepika Padukone and Vin Diesel promoted xxx: Return of the Xander Cage in India. So, one wonders if there’s a chance that the Baywatch team visits the country, too. “I don’t know yet,” says Priyanka, speaking from New York. She stars in Baywatch with action star Dwayne Johnson (left, with Priyanka). “I don’t think we will be doing much. We’ll be only doing one or two countries when it comes to travelling for Baywatch. But while I am in town, I’ll definitely do as much as I can,” she adds. The action-comedy film, which has Priyanka playing the antagonist Victoria Leeds, is based on the hugely popular television series of the same name. After a short trip of 10 days in India soon, Priyanka will have to rush back to fulfil her commitments. “I’ve to come back (to the US) again because I’ll be travelling for Baywatch,” she says. The actor, whose Marathi film production Ventilator recently won three National Film Awards, is looking forward to meeting her friends and family members during her visit to India. “I am very excited. It has been a long run for (her American television series) Quantico 2, and I am very tired. I’m just waiting to come home,” adds Priyanka. According to a source close to the actor, she will also meet a few filmmakers and decide upon some Indian projects while she is here, apart from doing some work on her brand endorsements.
