Want to do what Rani Mukherji did in Black: Sanjeeda Sheikh
Actor Sanjeeda Sheikh (above) has played the quintessential bahu on-screen and she has even portrayed characters of grey shades in shows such as Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa, Jaane Pehchane Se Yeh Ajnabi, Kayamath and Ek Hasina Thi. But the actor wants to explore a lot more by playing more challenging roles on television. Hoping to try her hand at something new, Sanjeeda says that she wants to essay the role of a visually impaired character, similar to the role actor Rani Mukerji played in Black (2005). “I really liked the way Rani [Mukerji] essayed the role of Michelle Mcnally in the film, and I feel that would be an interesting role to portray on-screen. Such roles enable an actor to break his or her comfort level and find what more they can do. Since television industry is experimenting a lot these days, I am hoping that I would soon get the opportunity to play one such character,” says Sanjeeda. The actor, who has done at both fiction and non-fiction shows, shares that she is also keen to be a part of a historical show on TV. “When I see historical and mythological shows, I always feel that I must also act in one. I am very fond of history, and such shows help you know more about the bygone era. I am also very fond of the costumes and accessories these actors are made to wear for such shows. They are so elaborate and beautiful,” adds Sanjeeda, who will play the role of a film star in her next TV venture.
