Ghar ka khana for birthday boy Vir

- Yashika Mathur VIR DAS

Actor Vir Das, who rings in his 38th birthday today, is going to celebrate his special day in a quite family affair with wife Shivani Mathur “It’s going to be me, Shivani and my bulldog in the house and I’ll get some home time. Recently, I’ve been travelling so much that now I’m just craving for some ghar ka khana with my family,” says Vir, who has been doing multiple shows. Talking about how the past one year has been for him, the actor-comedian says, “I try not to think about how my last year has been or how my work has expanded. I can only say that my last month has been a life changing experience. Audience around the world has messaged me. All of this is pretty daunting. So, I try to think of life in terms of baby steps and not the bigger picture. I feel, by doing this, you put undue pressure on yourself.” The actor, who has been part of films such as Delhi Belly (2011), Go Goa Gone (2013) and Santa Banta (2016) believes in focusing on his mistakes and learning from them. “I think, the idea is to grow as an artist every year. Everything that I have done in the last one year is something, which has helped me learn more. If nothing, then I take stock of my mistakes and stumbles, which I have faced, and learn more from them. You will never see me patting my back,” says Vir, who thinks, in life, one needs to keep moving ahead.
