RANVEER AND RANBIR ARE HEARTTHROBS AND HOW: ALIA BHATT

... but, very different from each other. Alia says Ranveer is crazy, while Ranbir is more into his craft

Actor Alia Bhatt is cooling off her heels in the sweltering summer, enjoying her “break from films” since the release of Badrinath Ki Dulhania earlier this year. Next up, are projects with actors Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh — filmmakers Ayan Mukerji and Zoya Akhtar’s respective films — and the 24-year-old is looking forward to it. “Ranbir and Ranveer are heartthrobs to me because of their sheer brilliance!” says Alia. She, however, adds that they are nothing like each other.

So what’s Ranveer like? “I’ve already shot with him a lot (ad films and videos), way more than what I have done with Ranbir. And Ranveer is just crazy. I have a complete blast working with him since he is so mad that you can’t help but say, ‘Listen, are you okay?’ All’s good in the hood because it’s not normal behaviour. But that’s what I love about him. He’s so out there with his enthusiasm and it’s all real, which is why, I feel, people love him.

And what about Ranbir? Ranbir, on the other hand, isn’t like that as he is way more into his performance and art etc. He doesnt’ say much, silently observes and is relaxed about the whole thing. I’ve been a Ranbir fan since [his film] Saawariya (2007), so it’s a big deal to work with him.

Shifting topic to another actor, your mother reportedly let the cat out of the bag recently, by hinting that you could be dating Sidharth Malhotra? Yes, but I think what she meant to say in a holistic manner was that, ‘Even if she was dating Sid, why should I have a problem.’ And I think she used ‘even if.’ There was a point when I used to find this piece of information interesting because I was like, ‘Wow, they are talking about it.’ Then, there was a point when I used to find it irritating, and then it stopped affecting me at all. Now, it has reached a point where it’s not even information anymore.

Do you get bothered about personal life talks now? It has become blah... like second nature of my personality. It sounds the same as, ‘Alia Bhatt is 24 and she lives in Juhu.’... It’s a fact.

So, is your relationship with Sidharth fact or fiction? I think it’s ‘faction.’ When people use the word ‘rumour,’ I am like, ‘kahaan ka rumour? ... Earlier, stories would term us as ‘rumoured lovebirds.’ Now, there’s no rumoured; it’s just ‘lovebirds.’
