Why did Sushant go into incognito mode?

- Samarth Goyal

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput is an instantly recognisable face for most Bollywood fans now. How does he deal with that? Why, by pretending to be someone else, of course. The 32-year-old actor, who shot to fame with television and has done several films by now, likes being in disguise when he is shooting at outdoor locations, especially in urban areas, where he is most likely to be spotted and mobbed. The shooting for his next release took Sushant to small towns and cities of Punjab. Nobody got to know because “the secret was to move in disguise and move without an entourage”, he says. At each location, the crew had already wrapped up the scenes by the time people got to know that Sushant Singh Rajput’s film was being shot there. “We shot extensively in Amritsar and other locations. I think we shot about a couple of times in Golden Temple as well. But before they (locals) would get to know that I was shooting there, or that a film was being shot there, we had already left,” he tells us. “I think when an actor travels, there’s this huge entourage that travels with them. So we decided that we’d go separately, so that we wouldn’t get noticed,” adds the actor about the strategy to evade crowds and get a hasslefree shoot environment. “I think the key is that people don’t see things because they’re not expecting it. I mean, even if I was on the road or shooting, because most of the time the cameras were hidden, people often just walked by without even realising that something was going on. By the time they could realise it and say, ‘Are yeh toh Sushant hai’, we’d be out of there and on our way back,” Sushant quips.
