Tips to get healthy hair

- Bhavika Marwaha

Everyone wants healthy hair, but heat, pollution and sweat tend to take a toll on our tresses and make them dull and lifeless. Here are a few tips, that if followed, will help you help you have healthy hair.

HEALTHY DIET

Intake of minerals and vitamins add life and strength to the mane. “Raw cabbage and onion prevent hair loss. In case of hair fall, massage onion juice onto the scalp or cover the bald patches with the same. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and wash it off with a mild shampoo,” says beauty expert Aashmeen Munjaal. No matter how frequently we wash our hair, oil and sweat can be tough to get rid off. “Not washing your hair regularly can make it greasy. While how frequently one should wash their hair depends on their shampoo and hair type, it’s necessary to wash your hair on time,” says beauty expert Deepa Verma.

STYLING IN SUMMER

Given that summer heat is merciless on hair, styling with heat only worsens the damage. “A simple hack to style your hair in summer is by twirling your wet hair into curls,”says Munjaal.

OILY HAIR FIX

An oily scalp leads to acne and hair loss. “To remove excess oil, you can give your hair a rinse with lemon juice. Spray a little bit of astringent on your hair and brush it on to get extra shine,” explains Munjaal.

PROTECTION OF COLOURED HAIR

Coloured hair requires more care than natural hair. “Keep your hair covered with a scarf or a beach hat, as much as you can, when you step out in the sun. After basking in the sun, take a shower. The colder the water, the longer your hair colour will stay, and make your hair shinier,” says Munjaal.
