Priyanka Chopra turns 35, is on a faraway sea vacation

Actor Priyanka Chopra has been teasing her followers on social media, dropping hints about #thechopravacation — a picture of passports, one in the plane with mom Madhu and brother Siddharth (inset), and another one on a sandy shore. “Mermaid under the stars... #birthdayfeels,” read one Instagram caption by Peecee, who’s celebrating her 35th birthday today at a faraway undisclosed “sea destination”. A little birdie, however, tells us that Priyanka is in Maldives, and set off for this holiday at the behest of her mom. The actor’s past few birthdays were spent shooting for a film or American TV show, Quantico. “Her mother said to her, ‘You should enjoy your success and it’s good to be working, but you need time to savour it, too.’ Priyanka took that tip [seriously],” a source tells us. While most of Bollywood headed to New York City last week for a glitzy awards do, Peecee flew down to India on July 13, for the launch of her Marathi production venture, Kay Re Rascala. “She was supposed to go to New York after the event, but got some time off and planned this week-long holiday. She will be back on July 22,” adds the source. Is there a birthday bash planned in Mumbai, too? “She was around for two days, met everyone, and went for dinners and luncheons with friends… If at all there’ll be a party, it’s going to be a last-minute plan,” shares the source, adding that Peecee’s resolution for this year seems to be to catch up with friends and family. Besides shooting for Quantico overseas, the actor made her Hollywood debut with Baywatch in May this year. “Just before leaving for NYC in January this year, she went to Goa with friends. Now, with this birthday trip with family, she’s catching up on all that she missed,” adds the source.
