‘It was difficult to accept One Direction’s hiatus’

Former One Directon star Louis Tomlinson (right) was initially apprehensive about the idea of the band going on a hiatus, but now admits it was the right thing to do. The Just Hold On singer was unsure of what he would do, after he and his bandmates, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, and Liam Payne, decided to take a break late in 2015 to focus on their solo careers, and he has now admitted it was “difficult for (him) to accept” the decision, reports femalefirst.co.uk “It was an uncomfortable time more than anything. We’ve always had a level of respect for each other in these meetings and we always said that 100 per cent honesty and openness is so important if you’re going to get on as a band,” he said. “It made those situations a little bit difficult because I felt like I really was building up confidence in myself and in my place within the band and as a songwriter in the band. I could feel that potentially it was going to be a break. What was difficult was trying to understand how long that might be,” he said. “So that process was kind of a little uncomfortable. You’re asking guys who have grown up being best friends to make selfish decisions, which they should do based on themselves. But it doesn’t change the fact that it was difficult for me to accept at first,” added Tomlinson.

Singer Lana Del Rey (left) felt “stuck in the same spot” with her last two albums, so she made an effort to gain “momentum” with her latest album. The 32-year-old singer, who released her fourth studio album Lust For Life on last Friday, has admitted her goal with the record was to feel as though she had “momentum”, as she was left feeling stagnant after the release of Ultraviolence (2014) and Honeymoon (2015), reports femalefirst.co.uk “I loved those records, but I felt a little stuck in the same spot,” she said. Lana revealed that in order to move on from her old sound, she made sure to “feel a little more present” in the world around her.
