Singer-actor Gippy Grewal (left) is a popular name in the Punjabi film industry. And now, he is all set to make his Hindi debut in Lucknow Central, which stars Farhan Akhtar. Considering the kind of love and adulation Punjabi artists get in Bollywood, Gippy hopes that he will be accepted as well. Asked why he chose the unconventional character of a jail inmate for his Bollywood debut, Gippy says, “I felt that Lucknow Central was a bit different from the usual stuff that you see on the big screen.” Excited to be working with actor Farhan, who plays the lead role in the film, Gippy adds, “He was the main reason why I instantly agreed to do the film. He is such a big artist and has worked in so many different films. So when you get to work with another great artist as your co-star, you learn so much in life.” Gippy shares that ever since he took up this role, he has been getting more offers from filmmakers. However, he is not rushing into anything yet. “I’m not finalising anything right now because I’ve seen many movies with a gross Friday of `1.5 to 2 crore or maximum 5 crore, which is difficult to achieve in Bollywood, whereas, Punjabi films cross a gross total of 2.50 crore much faster and with so much ease.” Referring to Hindi films that didn’t do great business at the box-office despite big hype around them, Gippy admits that he feels sceptical before signing a new project.“i don’t want to get stuck and end up being a part of a film where the gross collection of the film is less than my Punjabi films. I don’t wish to be in a situation where, instead of going up in my career, I go through a fall,” says Gippy. The actor adds that he wants to do films that leave a lasting impact on the audience.“even if the opening weekend is not great, people should remember me as a good actor and as someone who does amazing work. They should understand that the box office collection is less because of the storyline, but the content is amazing,” he says.

Stars leave no chance to connect with the campus fans when promoting their movies. And the team of Harry Met Sejal, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma were no different too. The stars along with director Imtiaz Ali decided to hitch a helicopter ride to SGT University in Gurgaon to promote their flick, and one can easily say that the event rocked. Hoards of fans were seen waiting for the team hours in advance. They were seen holding posters, handmade cards and portraits of their favourite stars (especially SRK!). They left no chance to hoot and cheer even at the slightest mention of the stars arriving. The crowd were excited when the chopper hovered over the college grounds and one could feel the happiness when Shah Rukh khan got off and struck his iconic pose. The stars went on to pep the students up, danced to songs from the film and even interacted with fans who had made special posters for them. “I am in love with SRK! Ever since the first time I saw him, he has been the embodiment of love for me. I am so glad Harry met Anjali,” said Anjali Sharma, a student.
