Hate waking up with a bloated face? Here are some natural remedies

The worst thing that can happen before a Diwali party is when you wake up to a bloated face in the morning. Stress, lack of hydration or allergies — there are various reasons that can cause one’s face to be bloated. However, it’s not a permanent condition. Here is your guide to getting rid of a puffed up face for the festive season. Cold water therapy: Take a small bucket and fill it with cold water. Add 15-20 ice cubes in it. Slowly dunk in your face in the buck for 5-10 times; don’t splash. The cold temperatur­e of the water shrinks the capillarie­s and stimulates drainage in the face, increasing circulatio­n. This is one of the most foolproof ways to get rid of a bloated face. A good massage: A facial massage can do wonders for your bloated face. For a facial massage, opt for a good moisturise­r or face massage oil. Gently massage the face with your fingers. This will help you push down excessive fluid in the face to your lymp nodes in the neck. Reduce salt: High content of salt intake in the body may lead to the swelling up of your face. Salt tends to retain water in the body that causes puffiness. Carbonated drinks will also increase puffiness. So, try to avoid it and always look for the level of sodium content in packaged products. Increase fibre intake: To prevent your face from getting bloated, increase the fibre intake in your diet. Include fibre rich foods such as papaya in your meal. It helps to keep your stomach and intestines healthy, which in turn keeps your face lean. Fruits containing Vitamin C, beta-carotene and antioxidan­ts should be consumed more bacause it prevents water retention in the skin. These also help to renew the skin and give it a bright glow. The green tea fix: Green tea is anti-inflammato­ry and rich in anti-oxidants. Therefore, you can use it to cure a bloated face. Steep the green tea bag in hot water for 4-5 minutes and allow it to cool. After that, place the green tea bag on the affected areas of your face. Coffee cure: Drinking coffee can cause your face to be bloated but did you know that adding it to your face wash can cure your bloated face? Take fresh coffee beans and grind half teaspoon of it and mix it your face wash. The caffeine will instantly remove the toxins from your face. Sweat it out: Work out to lose the puffiness. Cardio and weight training will help you improve blood circulatio­n and open up the pores. Combine this with a balanced diet and you can shed weight off your face too. You can also do exercises that target your double chin and jawline.
