No ego clash between Akshay-rajini
As next year’s big-ticket release, S. Shankar’s 2.0 starring Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth, nears its release date (January 2018), controversies refuse to die down. After a rumoured conflict over the climax of the film, now, fresh reports have emerged that owing to an “ego clash” between the superstars, they’ll not promote the film together. Also, it’s being said that Akshay won’t attend the mega music launch of the film to be held in Dubai on October 27. Rubbishing this as a baseless rumour, a source close to the actor tells us, “It’s a lie from the beginning. Some people are acting dirty. Akshay is very much going to be there for the Dubai event.” The source reveals that there are plans that both Akshay and Rajinikanth might arrive on a chopper at Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in Dubai. “Around Rs 12 crore are being spent on the music launch of the film, which has a budget close to Rs 400 crore. The music launch, in which AR Rahman is performing, will be compared by filmmaker Karan Johar,” adds the source. When the production team of 2.0 was contacted, an assistant director (AD), not wanting to be named, informs, “Both Akshay and Rajini sir are reaching Dubai on 26th morning, and the next day, we’re holding an international press conference. The music launch will be attended by 10 thousand people and 1.5 lakh people will watch it through LED screens.” The AD refutes the ego clash rumours and calls the actors “extremely humble” who didn’t get into any politics while shooting.
