The country’s first smart mobility solutions provider and the largest exporter since its inception, Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) unveiled the new 2020 Tucson on the first day of Auto Expo 2020. The unveiling of the car comes at an opportune time as Indian buyers are now opting for SUVS more than ever. With over 6.5 million customers worldwide, Tucson is one of the best-selling SUVS across the world. SS Kim, MD and CEO, said, “Tucson had redefined the premium SUV segment with its class-leading features and unmatched performanc­e. Hyundai, being India’s most preferred SUV brand, constantly strives to upgrade its products and services with best-in-class technology that meets the evolving needs of today’s customers and their rising aspiration­s. The new 2020 Tucson, powered by 2.0 litre petrol and diesel BS-6 engines, will further strengthen Hyundai’s dominance in the SUV segment in India.” The commanding presence of Hyundai’s optimised design, with a sleek rear surface and a striking fascia, sets it apart from other SUVS. The car is loaded with new penta-projector LED headlamps and tail lights, and a bold cascade-design front grille, giving a stronger appeal to the front. Flared wheel arches add substance to the lower end of the body. The car has a twin-tip exhaust, along with a panoramic sunroof. The car has luxurious and comfortabl­e interiors with a premium black interior colour theme and leather touch on the dashboard. The four-wheeler comes with powerful 2.0 litre diesel and petrol engines. The diesel engine is fitted withanew 8-speed automatic transmissi­on, giving it the best-in-segment power (185PS) and torque (40.8 kgm). The petrol engine delivers an impressive 152PS power and 19.6kgm torque. The all-new Tucson boasts of an advanced tyre-pressure monitoring system, smart power tailgate, electric parking brake, first-insegment power seats and Hyundai’s blue link and wireless charger. It also comes with new floating type 20.32cm HD touch-screen infotainme­nt with Android auto, Apple Carplay, Hyundai iblue and voice recognitio­n. The car has the most advanced Infinity premium speakers. The blue link features will provide holistic connectivi­ty with safety, security, geographic informatio­n services, artificial intelligen­ce, and location-based services. Beyond active safety technologi­es, the car has a strong body structure with 70% high strength steel (AHSS + HSS), built to comply with Hyundai’s safety standards. It is equipped with six airbags, with pretension­er and load limiter, side and curtain airbags, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, hill assist control, downhill brake control, brake assist, front and rear parking sensors, and anti-lock braking system. The car has a Hyundai Premium Assurance Program (HPAP) with Wonder Warranty (up to five years) for giving its customers complete peace of mind.
