OUR SONG AIMS TO CHEER UP PEOPLE’S MOOD AMID THE PANDEMIC: MEET BROS

- Nikita De

Eid may not be celebrated with the same gusto this year because of the lockdown due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, but everyone will do their best to celebrate the festival in whatever way they can. As for music composer duo Meet Bros, they are releasing a new song, titled Nit Din Jiyan Maran, in collaboration with Bangaldeshi National Award-winning composer and singer, Taposh, featuring actor Nargis Fakhri.

Manmeet and Harmeet Singh of Meet Bros have been at it to keep the spirits of people high with their online concerts and facebook lives. Now, with this single, they aim to spread some more positivity in these gloomy times. “The USP of this song is that it’s a Punjabi song sung by a Bangladeshi superstar. Taposh, despite having limited knowledge of the Punjabi language, has nailed this number with his sheer dedication and hard work. Upon his insistence, we also decided to feature in this music video with Nargis Fakhri to add that oomph factor,” says Manmeet.

The music video has been directed by Adil Shaikh and has been shot in the scenic trails of Cappadocia, Turkey. Fakhri, on her part, says that

“shooting in Cappadocia was a mesmerising experience” for her. “I was in love with the song from the moment I heard it! I’ve always liked the depth of Taposh’s voice, and the music by Meet Bros was born to make you move. Being a part of such a collaboration, which allows you to be yourself, is always gratifying for an artiste,” adds Fakhri.

Lyricist Kumaar has penned the song which is about “pure undying love”. Harmeet says, “This song aims to cheer people’s mood amid the Covid-19 pandemic.” Finally, Taposh concludes by saying that “music is the only fuel for my engine”. “Singing a song in Punjabi for the first time on the amazing composition of Meet Bros was a challenge, and I embraced it with my heart and soul. I hope I did justice to it,” signs off Taposh.
