I couldn’t wait any longer to be with my parents

- Shreya Mukherjee

It has been close to three months since everyone has been confined to their homes due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown that restricted any kind of travel. Now that things are opening up and interstate travel has been allowed, actor Rakul Preet Singh took the opportunity and flew to Delhi to be with her parents.

She tells us, “I’ve been in quarantine since March 15. During this period, the only thing that you want to do is spend time with your parents.”

Singh even reveals that there was a point in between when she was contemplating driving down to Delhi. “But then, that would have been a long drive. After a couple of my friends travelled, I realised flights are safe and if I travel now, I won’t be a threat to my parents,” adds the Yaariyan (2014) and Marjaavaan (2019) actor.

Singh, 29, was extra cautious when she went to Delhi. “I wore a PPE kit, face shield, mask, gloves, shoe covers, and looked like I’m going on a space mission

the actor says. Being with family during such times helps one stay strong, and Singh says, “I couldn’t wait any longer to see them. This is when you realise life’s so fragile. So, I want to spend a lot of time with them.”

Meanwhile, Singh’s brother, Aman Preet Singh, an entrepreneur, who has started his acting journey in the Telugu cinema took a flight from Mumbai to Hyderabad for work. “Once I know when my work is starting, I will decide on heading back to Mumbai,” she concludes.
