SIXSHOTSOFLIFE
There’s negativity all around but we will focus on the positivity. Our editor picks shots of life that bring a smile
This cutie showing off his goggles is Putz, a dog that Dennis Flamont got to comfort his ailing wife. While Flamont’s wife passed away recently, now Putz is his best buddy who tags along when he goes to work, in Saskatchewan, Canada. The goggles protect Putz’s eyes when he pops his head out of the window. Flamont can’t be happier when people tell him that watching Putz makes their day.
HT reader Liji Narayan, from Delhi’s Mayur Vihar, shares that her house help Mallika is like a friend. Through the lockdown, she called Narayan to check on her. On Narayan’s birthday, she arrived with a cake baked in a cooker. “Humne mobile mein dekh kar bina oven ke cake banana seekha,” Mallika said. There was a gajra, too, professionally strung, a skill she learned in the lockdown. Mallika told her how she misses having coffee at Narayan’s home. Few are blessed to build such bonds.
Robert Bob Conlin from Illinois, USA, used to camp outside his pregnant wife’s hospital window to surprise her, setting up elaborate date nights. And their bundle of joy made sure to arrive exactly a day before Father’s Day! “This little baby fought so hard to be my son and it makes me want to be the best father in the world for him,” Bob told a magazine.
