Health workers have been walking many kilometres to the most remote villages to administer vaccines. The health workers of Harangajao Primary Health Centre, headed by Dr Kishore Kemprai, crossed the Jatinga river on a boat to inoculate the residents of the Ditokkcher­a area in Assam. Kudos to these heroes!

BEYOND BLOOD BONDS THE HEALING TOUCH OF MUSIC ADVERSITY INSPIRES GENIUS

Amid rising fuel prices, S Baskaran from Tamil Nadu rose up to the challenge and took up the task of designing an electric cycle that could traverse a distance of 50km with just one unit of electric power. The 33-year-old built the electric cycle with only ₹20,000. A round of applause for this cleaner and affordable mode of transport.

Our reader Kumar Samresh shared with us how his son, Samanyu’s melodious voice and strumming of guitar strings helped uplift the morale of countless strangers during lockdown. Many have also written to the 14-year-old, expressing their gratitude. Well done, Samanyu!

Karina Litvack, a half French, half Canadian immigrant living in the UK, has hosted over 30 refugees in the spare rooms of her London apartment. But, Basel, a young Syrian student, who fled Aleppo has become like her own son. Litvack says, “I’m so lucky to have had him as family.”

BIKERS WITH A CAUSE

Legendary Sikh Riders, a biker group based in Canada, have embarked on a cross-country tour to raise money for Make-a-wish Canada foundation that works to create life-changing wishes for children with terminal illnesses. Their three-week-long adventure will help transform the lives of these children. We salute these bikers!

SAY NO TO HARASSMENT

Kerala Police has launched the Pink Protection initiative, aimed at preventing cyberbully­ing as well as humiliatio­n of women. To help women police officers conduct regular patrolling, a total of 70 vehicles, comprising 10 cars, 40 two-wheelers, including 20 bikes and 20 bicycles, have been allotted for the project. A step in the right direction.
