Wanted to be there for our daughter during her crucial years, says Soha
Soha Ali Khan, who was last in seen in Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 (2018), is now all set to return to the screen with Hush Hush. The film also marks her digital debut. Having spent the past few years raising her daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, she is happy to have learnt to balance motherhood and her professional life.
She says, “The foundation of childhood is important, and Kunal (Kemmu; husband and actor) and I made sure to create an environment of learning and encouragement. So, my focus for a while has been more about embracing this new phase of our lives and being there for our daughter especially during her crucial growing years.”
Khan credits her motheractor Sharmila Tagore for continuing to work even after becoming a mother and inspiring her. “Growing up, my mother was an icon in our lives. She balanced work and her time at home, which was commendable. She inspired me, taught me to nurture my little one and embrace the journey of motherhood while I take a break from the screen.”
Ask her about made her want to foray into the web space and the actor says that it seemed like the obvious next with more and more audiences consuming content on OTT platforms. “The pandemic has driven the eyeballs of people towards OTT platforms more than ever. Web series is a great way to create art and valuable content and reach millions. OTT offers quality and challenging work for actors and I would love to share a platform among the best ones,” she concludes.
