Actor Rasika Dugal has been a part of the web space since the time when OTT platforms had just about started gaining prominence in India. Delhi Crime, Mirzapur, Out of Love are a few of Dugal’s projects which fetched her immense popularity. And she continues to do more work in the space that got a boost in demand amid the pandemic. Today, OTT has emerged as the mainstay of the entertainment industry, but some also feel that the quality of content

Last month, Aparshakti Khurana took to social media to announce that he and his wife, Aakriti Ahuja, are expecting their first child. To protect her from the risk of contracting Covid-19, the actor said she is staying with their families in their hometown of Chandigarh.

The Dangal (2016) actor shares, “It was a tough call to go out to work. The fair and square way out to this was asking Aakriti to stay here (Chandigarh) while I’m shooting in Mumbai. I work with 50 people on the set. I don’t want to expose her to any kind of risk. Whenever I get a break for about three or four days, I go back.”

Would-be celebrity parents often debate with the idea of exposing their children to the public eye. But Khurana admits that while the decision is an important one, they are yet to talk about it. “There are some public figures who have protected their kids from the public eye. But there are many celebrities who are accepting of the situation as well. They believe that not taking children out isn’t a solution,” he says.

And the 33-year-old is excited to be shooting for Stardust. “I’m enjoying Vikramaditya Motwane sir’s process of filmmaking,” he adds. has lost its charm.

“Any space which is changing constantly, there is bound to be something good and something bad. It is not possible that all content on OTT will be great,” she asserts.

Dugal says good content is still being released, so viewers won’t feel any void. “If, as audience, I watch six trailers, two-three will be interesting. That is a fairly good ratio. Good and bad [content] both will exist. The reason, I am not sure if for some of the content not being promising, is the increase in demand,” she tells us.

She continues and explains that people have a lot of expectations from the emerging medium, which is why they look forward to more. “It could also be that till a few years back, the OTT space was very planned. The makers had thought of one season... Now they are having to come out with subsequent seasons too early,” says the 36-year-old.

But when it comes to her shows, she feels the seasons, too, kept up the level of the first one. She adds, “There might be a lot of reasons, I am not sure. Having said that, there are some shows which have kept up the quality. If I speak for myself, I think Mirzapur season two was very much at par with season one.”
