‘Social media is for us, we’re not for social media’
Jasmin Bhasin and boyfriend Aly Goni have been at the receiving end of social media flak since last year, when they appeared on a reality show together. Goni, recently, deactivated his Twitter account after trolls attacked Bhasin and his sister. But the Naagin 4: Bhagya Ka Zehreela Khel actor says that she has learnt to deal with toxicity in the virtual space.
“Social media has its pros and cons, people should know about their social media etiquette,” she says, further elaborating, “Trolling people and overreacting to anything and everything is not right. Celebrities are easy targets and that isn’t fair. Social media is for us, we’re not for social media. I also receive hate messages at times, but ignore it as much as possible.”
The lockdown has taught her the importance of selfcare. Focusing on the self is key to personal growth, she believes. “In our busy lives, we do everything but forget to take care of the one person most important to us, and that’s our own self. The best part is ‘me’ time doesn’t have any set rules. You can do anything you like during this time. You need to leave all the worry for later,” she signs off.
