Akshay Kumar’s Bellbottom set to unlock big screens

Theatre owners are confident the release of the long awaited film Bellbottom will revive and galvanise the industry. At the launch of the film’s trailer in Delhi, actor Akshay Kumar held up a big key to indicate it was time to unlock cinemas. While producers Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh and actors Vaani Kapoor and Lara Dutta Bhupathi were present at the event with Kumar, it was also attended by all multiplex cinema chain representa­tives and single screen owners.

Kamal Gianchanda­ni, PVR, said, “This has been a challengin­g time for the industry... But this gesture by

Akshay Kumar and Vashu Bhagnani has truly served as a shot in the arm and will go a long way to revive the industry.”

Rajender Singh Jyala, INOX, shared, “Bellbottom will not only help us get back on our feet, but would make us stride promptly out of the dark Covid-19 phase. We take this opportunit­y to thank Vashu Bhagnani and Akshay

Kumar for playing such a massive role in being the starting point of the industry’s revival journey.”

Saurabh Surana, of Raj Mandir Cinema (Jaipur), added, “I cannot thank Akshay Kumar, producer Vashu Bhagnani and the entire team of Bellbottom enough for taking the plunge during such times and deciding to release such a huge multi-starrer on the big screen.”

Echoing their sentiments , Devang Sampat of Cinépolis said, “The release of Bellbottom is a joyous occasion for all of us at Cinépolis and we are excited to welcome back audiences with an Akshay Kumarstarr­er.”

Pooja Entertainm­ent presents Bellbottom in associatio­n with Emmay Entertainm­ent. The film is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani. Directed by Ranjit M Tiwari, Bellbottom is set to release in theatres on August 19.
