OF THERE IS A BIT DISAPPOINTMENT IN ’83 DUE TO DELAY

Harrdy Sandhu, who turns 35 today, hopes his film will release at a time when theatres are back to 100% occupancy

The pandemic-induced delay in the release of the sports drama, ’83, has left singer-actor Harrdy Sandhu disappointed. However, he asserts that being patient has been a part of his journey towards success and this wait, too, will lead to good result.

“There is a little sense of disappointment due to all the delays. All through my life and career, I had to wait to achieve a lot of things. I’ve seen that. So, I’m patient enough, and the result that often comes out after the wait is good. So, jitna bhi time lagey, it is okay for me,” shares the singer, talking about the Ranveer Singh-led film, which was first set to release on April 10 in 2020, got rescheduled to June 4, 2021 and has again been pushed forward after the second wave.

Sandhu is looking forward to the film opening to 100% occupancy in theatres. “Like, jaise aap kabhi kabhi surrender kar dete ho na ke jo hoga jab tab hoga. It’ll happen for good. Sabr ka phal meetha hota hai,” says the Titliaan Warga singer, who turns 35 today.

Over the years, he has made a name for himself in the music industry with hits such as Soch, Backbone and Naah Goriye, among others. But does he plan to take up acting as a full-time job? “Music is my passion. I never knew I liked acting, dheere dheere samajh aa raha hai. I love acting, too, but my first love will always be music. I’ll only take up good scripts for acting,” he shares. Talking about his birthday plans, Sandhu says, “I am mostly working, but this year I will be spending time with family and friends. You feel special when people call to wish, but it’s just another day for me.”
