Cong condemns ‘racist attack’ on Indians in US

Congressme­n in Kota has condemned the ‘racist attacks’ on Indians in US and sought action from the Union government to check such incidents in future.

The Congress workers, led by the Pradesh Congress Committee member, Indramohan Singh ‘Honey’, state convener of the All India Peace Mission, Akhtar Khan Akela, and others submitted a memorandum, adressed to the President of India, to the district collector of Kota.

Singh said that 3 Indians were killed while 3 others were injured in a series of attacks on Indians in USA in the recent times, which raises concerns on the safety of Indians living there. “While there are increasing attacks on Indians in new Trump-led US regime, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government are camping in Varanasi for for their party,” he alleged.

He said that the Union government should immediatel­y take action for ensuring security of Indians living in the US as they play a large role in strengthen­ing the economy there.

In the recent spate of hate attacks, Deep Rai an Indian-origin citizen was injured in Kent (Washington) on March 3 while Harnish Patel and Srinivas Kuchibhotl­a were murdered in of in South Carolina and Kansas in the last one month.
