‘Power’ on lips, Raje hums country tune
HIGHLIGHTS Govt promises agri power connection for 1 lakh farmers, minikits based on soil card, 5% extra subsidy on sprinklers
In the wake of increasing man-leopard conflict in the rural areas, chief minister Vasundhara Raje announced a project to conserve the big cats and made a provision of ₹7 crore for it in the current financial year. Raje said that there are instances where leopards and humans have co-existed peacefully.
The state government also announced ₹10.90 crore for conservation of wood fossils and development of infrastructure facilities at Aakal Wood Fossil Park near Jaisalmer. Additionally, ₹10 crore was sanctioned for developing grasslands in and around Desert National Park (DNP) in Jaisalmer, the main habitat of Great Indian Bustard.
The state will set up IT security systems at Ranthambhore, Sariska, Jawai and Mukundra sanctuaries and Jhalana Reserve Forest Area. The government also promised to develop eco tourism at Trevor’s Tank at Mount Abu.
A project to provide drinking water from Jakham dam to 554 villages in Pratapgarh, Pipalkhoont and Arnod blocks also got a nod for an estimated cost of ₹912.55 crore.
Raje also announced Bundi cluster distribution scheme for ₹80.80 crore for the benefit of around 97,000 people in the district. The Chakhan dam scheme,on the other hand, will benefit Indragarh and Sumerganj mandi towns in addition to 45 other villages and six hamlets at a cost of ₹73.93 crore. The chief minister also announced the implementation of Didwana city reorganization scheme in two phases at a cost of ₹32 crore.
In the energy sector, Raje announced one lakh new agriculture connections in the next two years. The government will constitute Chittorgarh Fort Development Authority for conservation and systematic development for the heritage striucture with partnership of ASI.
For a caustic soda plant at Bithuja Industrial Area, Baremer, the CM allocated ₹6 crore. Another ₹500 crore was sanctioned for public utility works for mine-affected areas.
In the agriculture sector, the budget has made a provision for distributing mini-kits to one lakh farmers based on reports of soil health card in next year. The farmers of Kota, Bhilwara and Udaipur agriculture division will also avail benefits under Mukhya Mantri Beej Swavlamban Yojana. She announced 5% hike in subsidy for sprinklers.
In the health sector, the budget has announced new veterinary sub-centres at 4,160 village panchayats in a phased manner. The budget has also made a provision for constitution of 1,000 new women milk cooperative societies and establishment of fish brood bank at Gambhiri dam. The Chirali scheme, which is a community-based initiative against gender bias and violence against women, will be launched in seven districts.

The budget also announced a pension scheme for sportspersons above 60 years. It also made a provision of ₹ 50 crore for construction of universities in Alwar, Banswara, Sikar and Bharatpur.
