‘Xiaomi Redmi 4A will disrupt the affordable smartphone market’

Xiaomi Technology India Pvt Ltd on Monday announced the launch of an affordable smart phone, which is not only light on the pocket but is also the lightest Redmi device ever. Priced at ₹5,999, Redmi 4A weighs 131 grams; Xiaomi India is hoping it will punch much above its weight. “The device will disrupt the affordable smart phone market,” said MD Manu Kumar Jain. Sales of Redmi 4A will start on March 23 and, towards the end of March or early April, Xiaomi will start to take bookings. Also, young people want a powerful battery. Whereas most phones in this price range come with a battery of 2,000-2,500 mAh, we are providing a 3,120 mAh battery, which will last a day. The device weighs only 131.5 grams — the lightest Redmi device till date. And it is only 8.55mm thick. Plus it has a five-inch HD display and a 13-megapixel camera.
