Man arrested for raping 7yearold girl in Jaipur

The Jaipur police on Sunday arrested one person for the rape of a 7-year-old girl near Ramniwas Bagh. The child is undergoing treatment at JK Lone hospital in the city.

Deputy commissioner of police (east) Kunwar Rashtradeep told reporters on Sunday that the accused person has been identified as one Jalaluddin alias Jalal.

“We formed a special team to look for possible suspects from nearby areas of the Ramniwas Bagh as the child along with her mother used to stay there. We also took help of forensic science laboratory in the case. During investigation we were told about Jalal from several persons,” said Rashtradeep.

The police said that Jalal, who runs a roadside eatery, was detained and interrogated, following which he confessed to the crime.

“Jalal used to sleep near the same footpath as the child and her mother. On Friday evening the mother of the child, who is an alcoholic, was sleeping with her. Jalal, who was also drunk at the time, took the child along with him to a secluded place inside Ramniwas Bagh and raped her,” said Rashtradeep.

The police said Jalal has cases of murder and vehicle theft registered against him and has spent more than five years in jail in the past.
