JAIPUR EXCEEDS TARGET IN JOBS UNDER MNREGS, SAYS COLLECTOR
The Jaipur district has crossed the target on employment to families in 2016-17, and provided 22% more jobs under MNREGS compared to 2015-16 fiscal. Expenditure has also increased by 65%.
Focusing on construction of permanent structures, the expenditure on material component increased three fold.
Jaipur collector and MNREGS programme coordinator Siddharth Mahajan said 45.61 lakh man-days were provided against the target of 32.96 lakh – for this Rs 87.05 crore was spent, which is 165% more than that of 2015-16. He said special focus was laid on creating permanent works such as aanganbadi centres, panchayat buildings, cattle sheds and food godowns – for such constructions Rs 64.04 crore was spent, which is 57% higher than last year. In material component Rs 15.38 crore was spent, which is 292% higher.
The district crossed target in executing the CM’s budget announcements to develop playgrounds, aanganbadi centres and crematoriums. He said against the target of developing 100 playgrounds, 174 were made -- aanganbadi centres 201, target was 200; and 130 crematoriums instead of 102. Sanctions were made for 100 food godowns and 1448 works related to cattle sheds and others..
Additional district coordinator and CEO Zila Parishad Alok Ranjan said for the management of natural resources under MNREGS, nine works worth Rs 92 lakhhad been sanctioned for pasture development in five panchayat samitis .
