RCA polls: Ethics officer to take call on Bundi body’s voting rights
The Bundi district matter has to be decided before April 21, the last date of filing nominations.
The ethics officer of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) will decide whether the Bundi District Cricket Association (BDCA), facing financial misappropriation charges, can vote in the state body elections to be held on April 26.
“We found misappropriation and disciplinary charges against the association (BDCA), so the matter will be submitted before the RCA ethics officer and retired judge Panachand Jain,” said Gyan Sudha Mishra, retired judge and observer for the RCA elections.
“He (ethics officer) will decide on the BDCA’s voting,” Mishra told reporters.
The RCA completed the hearing on 13 district cricket bodies on Monday. “All were cleared except BDCA,” Mishra said. “The voter list will remain the same as the election officer released earlier.”
Election officer AK Pandey said the notification was issued on April 3. “Going by the RCA record, we have released the voter list.” The RCA has 33 voters.
“Yes, 25 individual voters can cast their votes but they will not be counted,” Pandey said. “The Bundi district matter has to be decided before April 21, the last date of filing nominations.”
Mishra said the elections will be held as per the Justice RM Lodha committee report. “If anyone has any objection, they can go to the court.”
The Lodha panel had suggested numerous changes for the BCCI to clean up the sport following match-fixing and corruption scandals.
