A 24-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for taking photographs of a woman human resources executive inside the washroom of her office in World Trade Centre in Kharadi, Pune.
The complaint said that the incident took place around 9.45pm on Tuesday. The phone was placed in the gap between the ceiling and partition between the two lavatories. The man was trying to click photographs by standing on the toilet seat in the adjacent cubicle.
When the woman saw the phone, she asked Rajkamal Rajbahaddur Yadav, in the adjoining toilet, to come out. She then called security guards, who handed him over to the police.
“I was working till late as the appraisal process in on. I got scared when I saw the phone and asked the man to come out from the adjoining toilet,” said the 26-year-old woman in her statement. She added that he tried to flee, but the security got him.
Yadav, according to police, is a native of Bihar. “He has been arrested and booked under IPC section 354(C) (voyeurism). We will produce him in court tomorrow (Wednesday),” said an officer of Chandan Nagar police station.
