and chikungunya cases.

Sisodia said that to ensure patients with fever don’t have to face problems, the chief minister has also ordered setting up a call centre, where people can get information about the availability of beds in a particular hospital.

Online database of beds in government hospitals will be created, he said.

“The call centre will help fever patients get beds in government hospitals. Like last year, the government will also fix the maximum fee for dengue and chikungunya tests in the city,” Sisodia said.

The deputy chief minister said Kejriwal will hold a review meeting again in the next 10-15 days.

Till April 15 this year, 27 cases of dengue and 79 chikungunya cases have been reported.

Last year, 4,431 cases of dengue and 7,760 cases of chikungunya were reported.

Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Saturday the government would take steps to bring before law those responsible for the killing of an RSS worker at Payyannur here.

Terming Friday’s incident as “very unfortunate”, Vijayan wanted everybody to see the case as an isolated one and ensure that it would not cause hurdle in the peace efforts in the district.

“Persons concerned have to be cautious to see that the situation is not turning worse. The government will make all efforts to bring the guilty before law,” he told reporters here.

Meanwhile, citing “frequent” attacks on its party workers, BJP demanded that Kannur be declared a “disturbed area” and Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act be imposed. A BJP delegation submitted a memorandum to governor justice (Rtd) P Sathasivam to declare Kannur disturbed. PTI
