Cong: BJP govt has compromised country’s security

-

Former Union minister RPN Singh Monday said that in the last three years, BJP government has compromised both the internal and external security and pushed the country towards terrorism and naxalism.

“The situation at Jammu and Kashmir has become unstable. Stones are pelted, slogans are raised in support of Pakistan and terror activities have gone out of control,” he said.

He claimed that in last three years, 172 terror incidents have taken place, of which 12 were serious where security forces suffered heavy damage. “Around 578 soldiers have been martyred, 877 people killed, and 1,343 times cease fire has been violated,” he said.

Singh said that under BJP government, the defence budget has constantly been reduced. There is shortage of 9,242 officials and 52000 soldiers. This has affected the morale of the forces, the Congress leader alleged.
