SCIENCE AND SCRIPTURES Justice Sharma cited religious texts and scientific studies while asking Centre, state govt to take steps to declare cow as national animal

A Rajasthan high court judge Wednesday asked the central and the state government­s to declare cow as India’s national animal and ensure that those who kill it be given life term. Justice Manish Chand Sharma also listed how the cow is beneficial for human beings. “I spoke with conscience. Our religious texts tell us how important cow is. Even its dung and urine are beneficial to us,” he said.
