GROOM, FOUR OTHERS DIE AS 2 CARS COLLIDE WITH SUV

Four people, including the groom, died when the car in which they were travelling in hit an SUV in Rawatsar area of Hanumangar­h district.

According to the police, five others —Mohanlal, Sitaram, Ajay, Subhas and Balwant —were injured and have been hospitalis­ed in the accident which took place late on Sunday night.

The incident took place at 8 pm on Sunday when two cars from Haryana were heading towards Rawatsar. An SUV came from the opposite direction and collided with both the cars,” said head constable Rampratap of Rawatsar police station.

The police said that such was the impact of the collision that four people died on the spot and the cars were badly mangled. The police said that the deceased have been identified as Jagatpal, Raghueer, Sandeep and Subhas. “Jagatpal is a resident of Haryana and was the groom. He died on the spot along with three others,” said Rampratap.

“The driver of the SUV fled from the spot and a search has been initiated for him. All the injured have been admitted to a hospital,” said the constable.

The police said that a case has been registered against the driver of the Bolero, Angrez Singh.

“The case has been registered under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 304A (causing death by negligence) and other relevant sections of the IPC,” said the police.

This is the second accident in Hanumangar­h district which has resulted in multiple deaths.
