Man arrested in Sirohi for raping 4-year-old daughter

The Sirohi police have arrested a man for allegedly raping his 4-year-old daughter in an inebriated state. According to the police, the incident happened on Monday night, when the accused was alone in the house with his two minor daughters.

“At around 10 pm on Monday we got information from a doctor that a child has come for treatment and who seems to have been sexually assaulted. We went to meet the child and subsequent medical tests confirmed that the attack took place,” said Kishandas, station house officer of Rewdar police station, Sirohi.

The police said that after the confirmation, a search was initiated for the accused who was missing. “During investigation we came to know that the accused, who is a labourer, is an alcoholic. His wife also works and was outside the house when the incident allegedly took place. However, the accused didn’t hurt his other daughter who is around three-year-old,” said Kishandas.

The police said that after the mother of the victim returned home, her daughter complained of pain in her private parts which made her to go to the doctor. “The woman came to know that her husband was drinking after asking their relatives who live nearby. We searched for the man and after a while arrested him. A medical test of the accused was also done,” said the SHO.

The police said that the arrested person has a criminal record with several cases registered against him from the past.

“A total of five cases have been registered against the accused that include cases of accident, assault, gambling and under the excise act. We have registered a case under sections of IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO),” said Kishandan.
