All businessmen will keep their establishments, firms and shops closed to support Bharat bandh.

Petroleum dealers in the state will not buy fuel from oil companies on Tuesday, protesting against daily price revision.

The Rajasthan Petroleum Dealers Association (RPDA) also demanded that the aggregate turnover of petrol and diesel be kept out the goods and services tax (GST), scheduled to be launched on July 1, a release said.

The daily revision of petrol and diesel prices, instead of once every fortnight, was rolled out across the country from midJune to enable governmentowned oil companies to align domestic rates more closely with global crude costs.

RPDA general secretary Prakash Gawalera and secretary Shashank Kaurani said the All India Petroleum Dealers Association has called an emergency meeting on Tuesday in Delhi to decide a strategy ahead of the GST rollout. RPDA submitted a memorandum to union finance and petroleum ministers, urging them to exclude the aggregate turnover of petrol and diesel from the GST. “No petroleum dealer is protesting GST, but there are a few flaws in it that can cause loss to dealers,” the release said.

“The government has kept petrol and diesel out of GST net, but there is information that government will calculate GST on aggregate turnover of petrol and diesel due to which it is compulsory for the petroleum dealers to get registration done under GST rules.”

Experts want the government to make its stand clear to dealers on GST. Fifty trade and industry bodies in the state, including Federation of Rajasthan Trade and Industry (FORTI) and Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, have decided to support the Bharat bandh on June 30 in protest against the GST process.

A 40-year-old man and his son were killed early today after a truck overturned on their makeshift house alongside a highway in neighbouring Jhalawar district.

The incident took place when Raj Kumar and his 12-year-old son were sleeping in their house. The truck was driving up an elevated part of the JhalawarBaran highway when its driver lost control of the vehicle.

The truck came down backwards and overturned on the house, Khanpur SHO Surjeet Singh said.

Both of them were killed on the spot while other members of the family were out for some at the time of the accident, he said.

The truck was seized while a hunt is on for its driver who fled from the spot, a case of negligent driving has also been lodged against him, Singh said.

The bodies were handed over to the family members after postmortem.
